Jayson Stewart is a seasoned self-taught visual arts educator and multidisciplinary artist with a deep-rooted passion for exploring a variety of mediums, including acrylic painting, woodworking, sculpture, mosaics, murals, and multimedia creations.
With nearly two decades of experience teaching visual and media arts at Espanola High School and previous experience at Northlea Elementary and Middle School in Toronto, Jayson has cultivated a rich background in art education and creative expression.
He has spearheaded numerous artistic programs and community art projects such as arts summer camps, paint nights, and painting competitions, and is the founder of the Art in the Park event in Massey.
Drawing inspiration from iconic artists like Pablo Picasso, Norval Morrisseau, Christi Belcourt, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, and Frida Kahlo, his work radiates with vibrant colors and bold lines, often infused with themes of social justice.
Jayson is currently accepting commissions and is preparing to offer online art lessons, extending his reach to a wider audience.
